Inspired by a story I heard yesterday about a mother and daughter nurturing the sweetest little lamb—the runt of the litter—I couldn’t help but reflect on the beauty of love in motion. Just as they poured their time, energy, and compassion into this tiny, fragile life, we too are called to carry one another’s burdens, share in joys and sorrows alike, and love one another as our Heavenly Father loves us.

Jesus said, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these... you did for me” (Matthew 25:40). As Leaders, the temptation to focus on the many can pull us away from the one...the one from the ninety-nine.

This simple truth reminds us that when we care for those who are overlooked, weary, or in need, we reflect the very heart of God. Love in motion doesn’t wait for grand opportunities or perfection—it meets needs wherever they arise: on couches, in closets, in back rows, or in hidden corners.

Love in motion is found in the smallest acts of kindness. A warm smile, a listening ear, a thoughtful gesture—these moments of connection carry profound weight. Never underestimate the gift of presence. It’s such a simple thing to offer, yet in today’s busy world, it remains one of the rarest and most cherished gifts. Being present with someone in their time of need, even in silence, speaks volumes about the love we carry as God remains near to us in our time of need.

Love is awareness. When we slow down to notice the people around us, we see opportunities to minister in the “little things.” My friend Martha shared a quote from a friend of hers, “If we can’t minister in the little things, we certainly can’t minister in the big things.” I am constantly sharing this principle of responsibility and trust we have been given by the Lord. We see this in the Scriptures “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

For the Ones Who Feel Forgotten
If you feel like the runt of the litter—overlooked, fragile, or struggling—know that you are cared for and seen and in the economy of God, there are not runts. Just as that little lamb was nurtured with love, God sees you in your need. He knows your heart and will send people and resources to love and support you in ways that reveal His goodness. You are never forgotten or abandoned.

God places us in each other’s lives to be the hands and feet of Jesus, offering encouragement, hope, and care. When we embrace this calling, we participate in something bigger than ourselves. We bring heaven to earth by demonstrating that every heart matters.

For Such a Time as This

Love in motion is our response to the love we’ve been given. It’s a reflection of God’s kindness, poured out through us to the world around us. Whether you’re the one giving or receiving, love is a gift that changes lives—including your own.

So today, take a moment to ask yourself: How can I show love in motion to someone today? Who needs a kind word, a listening ear, or a helping hand? You don’t need to look far to make a difference—because wherever love is shared, hearts are healed, and God’s presence is made known. Seek the Lord first (Matthew 6:33) and ask Him to lead you where He needs you. He will!
