When my Grandbaby turned two, his joy in coloring and saying his letters made me want to create something just for him because I LOVE to paint, write and color too. So, I made him an ABC coloring book filled with his favorite animals and simple Bible verses to go along with each one. Oh, and every page also has hidden hearts for him to search out, turning coloring time into a fun little adventure.
He loves animals, so I created pages with lions, elephants, birds and more. Each one pairs with a short verse from the ABC's of the Bible to gently introduce God's Word. The hidden hearts add an extra layer of play that keeps his attention while he practices his letters too.
Many days we sit together with his toddler coloring book open between us. He points at the letters and I read the verse out loud. It feels peaceful and unhurried, the kind of moment that refreshes both of us.
Why a Christian Coloring Book for Toddlers Works So Well
Young kids coloring books give little ones a chance to explore colors while learning shapes and letters. Adding Bible content turns it into more than just play.
Sharing the Joy with Other Grandmas
After seeing how much my little guy loved his book, I decided to make it available for other families. Grandma life often includes looking for ways to connect across generations, and this coloring book does that in a simple way. Moms have also told me they appreciate having a Christian coloring book for toddlers that blends learning the ABC's with faith.
We pack the book, crayons and a small carry bag for church, going out to eat and use on vacation. It travels easily and gives us something meaningful to do when we need a calm activity.
Tips for Peaceful Coloring Time
- Give them creative space to think and pick their letter or animal.
- Encourage them to find the hidden hearts.
- Use the pages as a starting point for short prayers together.
- Use triangle crayons so they are not rolling all over the place
- Keep the Coloring Book,Crayons & Stickers together for a quick grab if on the go
Bringing Faith into Everyday Moments
Coloring might seem like a small thing, but it opens doors to talk about God's creation while practicing letters. Those moments add up and become part of the rhythm of Grandma life.
If you are looking for a toddler coloring book that combines play, letters and Scripture, this is it! Cannot wait to make more like this.
I am grateful for the chance to pass along something that brings joy to my Grandbaby and hope it does the same for other families too.
